Another big week for the Carolina Beach and Wilmington area! On Saturday is the 18th Annual Pleasure Island Chowder Cookoff, where a variety of local eateries battle over who has the best chowder! The winning seafood soup will be determined by both a panel of judges as well as a local vote. There will also be live music, games and face painting for the kids, and wine and beer for the adults; fun for the whole family! The gates open at 11:30 a.m. and your six dollar admission will get you a taste of each chowder (on a first come first served basis). Don’t miss out on the good food and fun!

Starting Wednesday and on through Sunday is the Azalea Festival, one of Wilmington’s most anticipated and celebrated events of the year! The events of the Azalea Festival are intended to promote volunteerism, add to the local economy, and showcase the community’s gardens, artwork, culture, and history. The festival is comprised of a variety of events including (but not limited to): concerts, the Queen Azalea crowning, Cole Bros Circus, garden party, garden tour, art show, street fair, coin show, fireworks, parade, and much more! Be sure to check out the Azalea Festival to gain some insight on Wilmington’s rich culture.

Tonight, witness a rare stargazing event! The planets will be at opposition as Mars, the Sun, and Earth will form an almost perfectly straight line. This is the best time to view Mars as it is at its brightest in April 2014. What better place to stargaze than the beach!

It includes elevator use, pool access, washer/dryer in unit, high speed internet and garage parking for 2 cars.

Conveniently located next to the lake, this unit is walking distance from this weekend’s Chowder Cookoff! Starting in mid-May at the lake there will be free movies on Sundays and farmer’s market every Saturday morning. Waterview would be a great place to stay for those wanting to check it out.

This unit is currently available for this weekend as well as much of June. Only select weeks are still available for July and August! Call today before availability is gone!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a sunny week!
